Requirements
WhatsOnWhen hosted solutions require, aside from licensing and sales issues, a few extra things on the part of our clients;
- A Design
WhatsOnWhen does provide design services if you do not currently have one, but the hosted solution also allows for the possibility of mirroring your current design. Customers are free to supply detailed templates, and may even choose to locate essential parts of the design, including navigation and other parts of the template, on their own systems to be managed and updated along with the rest of their site layout and design; - Restrictions
Customers are free to license only part of the products available; customers can choose the whole globe, or limit the content to specific continents, subcontinents, countries, cities, or even specific venues. You may decide to only license 4 and 5-star rated events, or only events which fall within any of our predefined category hierarchy; - A DNS Name
Customers who wish to use WhatsOnWhen services on either our next-generation ASP hosted solution or our XML feeds must provide us the DNS name they will use to access the service; this may be, for example, any subdomain of your site that you wish to create - such as events.yourcompanyname.com, or guide.yoursite.com. Site crawlers and search engines will associate that subdomain with your site when ranking searches and popularity.
